Do you know someone who works hard for a local charity? We’re not purely looking for someone who has raised the most amount of money, we are also looking for someone who has dedicated a lot of their time to make a difference with their fundraising.
We want to celebrate those individuals that really bring the Medway community together through their spirit and drive. Anyone that has made an impact by organising a community event, supporting those that need it or giving their time to improving the local area should be nominated.
From calmly dealing with an emergency situation to overcoming their fears to do something for others – if you know someone that has been courageous then you should nominate them for a Pride in Medway award.
From caregiving professionals to family members who rise to the challenge of looking after a loved one, carers always dedicate their time to others. What better way to show your appreciation for their selfless actions than nominating them for this category?
Pride in Medway doesn’t only recognise those making a difference to people, we also acknowledge those looking after the planet. This category is for anyone who has really made an effort with conservation, recycling, litter picking or encouraging others to adopt a greener lifestyle.
This category celebrates anyone who has helped someone recover after an illness on a personal or professional level. You should also nominate anyone who helps others to adopt a healthier lifestyle whether that is through assisting them to give up smoking, improving their diet or increasing the amount of exercise they do.
We want to hear about anyone who has generously donated their time to help people and organisations in the local community. From volunteering at a charity shop in their spare time to helping an elderly neighbour who needs some additional support, anyone that gives up their time for other people should be nominated for this category.
People of all ages are making their impact in Medway, but young people deserve a special mention. There are plenty of people in the local area whose mature attitude and selfless actions have really made a difference to those around them.
A new category for 2019, Sports Coach of the Year has been introduced for those individuals who have not only dedicated their time to coaching their sports team but have also helped their young team members grow in confidence.
